Some events come and go. Others slowly thread themselves into our local calendar, the kind you write down weeks in advance and keep talking about long after the stage lights go down. Over the past two years, PEPCITY has become exactly that.

What is PEPCITY?

 

What started as a bold collaboration between Pepsi Mauritius and Ascencia Malls has evolved into one of the island’s most anticipated lifestyle festivals. It’s a space where music, sport, gaming, food, and street culture collide, feeling completely fresh with every single edition.

 

From the packed-out weekends at Bagatelle Mall in 2025 to the recent high-energy takeover at Riche Terre Mall earlier this month, PEPCITY thrives on a simple formula: making sure everyone, families, friend groups, and casual shoppers alike, has a brilliant time.

 

Turning Everyday Spaces Into Festival Grounds

 

The real magic of PEPCITY lies in the transformation. Almost overnight, familiar mall parking lots are completely reimagined. Ordinary asphalt becomes a massive entertainment village complete with concert stages, neon-lit gaming arenas, mini-football pitches, and food stalls.

 

For a full weekend, the entire vibe changes.

Walk through PEPCITY, and you’ll catch a live concert on the main stage. Just a few metres away, teenagers are locked in intense FIFA battles on giant screens, while kids try their luck at football accuracy challenges nearby. With impromptu dance-offs, local DJs spinning tracks, and photo booths buzzing, the whole thing feels much closer to a street festival than a mall promotion.

Flashback: Bagatelle Mall 2025 Set the Bar High

 

Last year’s PEPCITY edition at Bagatelle took the concept to a whole new level. Over three days, the venue turned into a vibrant cultural playground.

 

The atmosphere was electric from day one. Homegrown artists and performers brought serious energy to the stage, while the crowds moved freely between live music masterclasses, freestyle football showcases, and the food court.

 

And perhaps the biggest win? People actually stayed. Families spent their entire afternoons there, teenagers came back day after day, and groups gathered around the competitions late into the evening. It turned a routine mall visit into an entire weekend destination.

 

Riche Terre Mall Joins the Movement

 

This year marked a major milestone for PEPCITY with its very first footprint at Riche Terre Mall earlier in May… and the northern crowds absolutely showed up.

 

The parking lot was transformed into a bustling hub of activity, packed with gaming booths, freestyle sessions, and interactive spaces for all ages. The turnout was massive, creating a genuinely festive local atmosphere. Massive live performances from local favourites like Désiré François, Bilygane, Tii Alexandre, Daggerkilla, Oeson, and Donovan BTS kept the crowd on their feet from afternoon to night.

 

Even the mall’s food court tenants jumped in on the action, rolling out special combos and exclusive promos. It’s this kind of synergy across the entire mall space that makes PEPCITY feel like a true community celebration.

PEPSI UCL Final Night at Bagatelle Mall in May 2026

 

On 30 May 2026, the festival returned to Bagatelle Mall for a massive, football-inspired edition celebrating the peak of the UEFA Champions League season. There were giant screens playing iconic football highlights, live freestyle demos, intense FIFA tournaments, foosball tables, hip-hop sets, and plenty of interactive challenges throughout the day.

The football fever doesn’t stop there. On 6 June 2026, the energy shifts back to Riche Terre Mall as Pepsi brings another sports-focused experience to the North, keeping this incredible collaboration going strong.

At the end of the day, what makes PEPCITY memorable isn’t just the line-up or the schedule of activities. It’s the feeling. People arrive curious and leave with full camera rolls, shared stories, and great memories.
